The
Moncton Football Association has been assisting the youth in greater Moncton to
develop not only their athletic skills, but also life skills. Our slogan “Building
Character and Sportsmanship Through Football” has been the back bone of our
organization for 50 years.
The association has started building an athletic development centre for the
youth who are interested in developing their individual talents. This centre
will enable us to support the children’s athletics and education. Educational
programs will include: sessions on physical development, mental development,
sociological development, drug awareness seminars, and nutrition programs. Other
programs will include speed training and weight training for the older
teenagers. The Football Association will be able to develop and train its
coaches, officials, and administrators through certification programs. The
facility will allow us to register, track and maintain the flow of our football
equipment. More importantly, we will also have a place to showcase our player’s
successes, achievements, and our records.
The new facility will be located close to the end zone beside the new buildings
you presently see at Rocky Stone field in Centennial Park. The financial burden
of such a facility is enormous and by far the largest undertaking this
Association has ever committed itself to.
Our commitment is $500,000.00.
In order to offset this capital expenditure, we are selling bricks.
This is the largest endeavour of
our 50 Year history. All donations over $20 will receive a receipt if
requested.
